Volunteer Opportunities

  • As an Event Team volunteer, you will attend C.A.S.T. events to help with set up, take down, tabling and executing events.

    • You will help manage our community drop-off stations, organize and record inventory and drop-off donations to our partner organizations.

    • We ask that Event Team volunteers commit to 4 events a year (approximately 2-3 hours per event).

  • Ambassadors help C.A.S.T. build relationships with businesses, schools, rotaries, community groups, individuals, and more.

    • Learn, on a deeper level, about each of the programs we offer.

    • Help us bring these programs to our community (schools, businesses, faith-based communities, community groups, friends, and others).

    • Work with C.A.S.T. staff to set up times to connect with groups in the community and explore ways C.A.S.T. can collaborate. (Either by advocating for our programs or inviting neighbors to participate in our fundraisers.)

    • We ask Ambassadors to commit to at least 2-5 hours per month.

  • As an Organization Builder you can:

    • Recording data from Pre and Post Surveys (from our Power Over Predators presentations and community engagements)

    • Take inventory of donated goods from C.A.S.T.’s Material Donation Drives

    • Helping to create surveys and systems for data collection

  • As a Presenter, you will be trained in our Power Over Predators curriculum, master the material and present to middle and high school students as well as community members. This is our most intensive volunteer opportunity, and we are looking for volunteers who are available during school hours and/or evenings.

    • Speakers must be over 18 years old, self-motivated to stay fresh on the content materials and pass a background check (approximately 40-80 hours per year).

  • C.A.S.T. has a variety of research needs and opportunities. We would love to find what most energizes you! Here are a few of our needs but we are happy to explore other areas of research with you too:

    • Looking up the most recent statistics and resources that can help our community prevent exploitation.

    • Critically review books, movies, podcasts, and additional resources (that C.A.S.T. may want to recommend.)

    • Research different businesses that would be interested in supporting a nonprofit like C.A.S.T.

This volunteer position is the most flexible, and can be done fully remote. C.A.S.T. will work on a schedule or goal with the volunteer.

  • Join one of our subcommittees! Some of these roles may overlap with volunteer roles above. We would love to find what most energizes you and matches your schedule and interests! You can participate in one or multiple of the subpoints below:

    • Education/Awareness Subcommittee

      • Reaching out to community groups (Rotary and PTA groups)

      • Connect with city, county, and state representatives

      • Help us develop parent/student/educator resources

    • Fundraising Subcommittee

      • Gathering raffle and auction items for fundraising events

      • Inviting local businesses to sponsor fundraising events

      • Volunteering at fundraising events 2x a year (Golf and Annual Fundraiser)

      • Joining invitation and thank-you note writing parties

    • Operations Subcommittee

      • Research policies for best practices for nonprofits

Please note: For any subcommittee, you can participate in one or multiple tasks under each description. Ex: Under Fundraising Subcommittee, you can join just for the invitation and thank-you note parties.
